Of Orchard Park, N.Y., died peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Born to East Aurora residents Harriet and R.J. "Chris" Schutz, Sig lived a full life that spanned more than nine decades. A graduate of East Aurora High School, Sig attended Antioch College where she met her husband Charles J. "Chuck" Weinschreider. Sig was the heart of her family, a homemaker who raised their four children while moving several times including one move back to Elma, N.Y., where Chuck was an executive at Fisher Price. During that time Sig was President of Aurora Children's Theater and an active member of Newcomers and the Garden Club. Though the Weinschreiders subsequently left Western N.Y. for some time, they returned to East Aurora nearly forty years ago and Sig lived the balance of her life in the area. Sig was an avid gardener and tennis player, a bird lover, a sly bridge player, a superb bingo caller, a devoted crossworder, a demanding water aerobics leader, and a dear friend to many. But before all else Sig was a wonderful mother to four children, a proud grandmother of ten grandchildren and an admiring great-grandmother to nine adorable members of the next generation. Predeceased by her husband and her sister Rosalind; Sig is survived by her children Kristy Rudel, Steven Weinschreider, Carrie Audette, and C.J. Weinschreider, their spouses and offspring; and other members of her extended family. She was a generous soul who enjoyed life and will be missed by those who knew and loved her and by the legions of birds who gathered at her birdfeeders every day. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
