Sigrun Eleanor Ann McGee

Sigrun McGee, age 101, of Dell Rapids, passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on March 5, 2026. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at the Lutheran Church of Dell Rapids. Burial will follow at Norway Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 PM Monday, March 16, 2026 at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Dell Rapids.

Sigrun (Sigi) McGee was born January 23, 1925 in Logan Township, Dell Rapids, SD to John and Karen Sunde. She attended Logan Valley Country school and in 1936, moved with her family to Lake County. She graduated from Orland High School near Madison in 1942. Sigrun lived and worked in Sioux Falls before her marriage to Kenneth B. McGee in 1946. The couple farmed near Dell Rapids for 45 years and moved into Dell Rapids in 1994. She is currently a member of the Lutheran Church of Dell Rapids and was a member of First Lutheran Church in Sherman, S.D, where she served as treasurer for the Ladies Aid for over 19 years and taught Sunday school.

She will be remembered for her faith, her kind and gentle spirit, a thankful and joyful heart and love for her family and friends.

Grateful for sharing her life are her children: Karen Muller, Carmel, Indiana; Cheryl (Max) Merry, Dell Rapids; Joy (Marc) Meissner, San Antonio, Texas; Mark (Amy) McGee, Dell Rapids; and Brian (Chris) McGee, Dell Rapids; grandchildren: Bryce Muller, Kari ( Todd)Morarity, Courtney( Robert) Kelly, Brooke ( Garrett) Reed, Casey( Brittni) McGee, Justin Jensen, Jenna ( Marcus ) Murphy, Michael ( Halle) McGee and great grandchildren: Josie and Sydney Morarity, Raven and Killian Reed, Raina and Ava McGee, Ilah and Beau Murphy and Etta McGee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings, granddaughter Ann Merry, grandson Matthew McGee and son-in-law Roger Muller.
