Silva Luisa Pilipowskyj

We lost, suddenly, our adored Silva on November 18, 2025 at the age of 91. Silva was the daughter of Luisa Morassi and Silvano Bernardis, and was born in Italy in 1934.
Silva leaves behind her husband Serhij of 64 years, their children Luisa Kropcho (John) and Alexander Pilipowskyj (Renae), and Silva's brother Luigi. She is survived by grandchildren Nicholas (Rebecca), Luke, Matthew, Josiah and Weston, as well as great-grandchildren Colin and Magnolia. She cherished her extended family in Italy as well as in the United States.
Our Silva came to the USA and became a proud American citizen. Throughout her life she supported her Air Force and Navy family as they served at many locations across the world.
She loved life- nature, gardening, reading and studying, fine cooking, theater, the arts and photography. She also loved the game of bridge, where she found dear new friends Marie and Sherry who brought her endless joy and hope.
Silva was wise and caring, and saw humor and beauty when these were hard to find, and saw the best in people
A celebration of life will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church 6400 Newport Avenue in Norfolk, VA at 10 am on 5 December 2025.
