Silvio Margiotta

age 97, passed away peacefully at home on October 13th, 2025.
Born on June 30th, 1928, in Pratola Peligna, Italy, Silvio immigrated to the United States through Ellis Island on September 9, 1947. In 1950, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served two years supporting the country's efforts in the Korean War.
Utilizing the benefits of the G. I. Bill, Silvio finished his education at John Carroll University. Shortly thereafter he founded his first company, Great Lakes Typographers. A driven and highly successful entrepreneur, he later built and directed an industry-leading commercial printing company, Modern Impressions in Cleveland, Ohio.
Silvio is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Jennie (nee Silvestri). A devoted father to three loving children and their dear spouses, Susan Salem (George), Loretta Nasca (Mark) and David Margiotta (Sharon), he was also a proud and adoring patriarch to seven beautiful grandchildren, Lesley (Bertin), Marissa, Mark Joseph, Philip, Michael, Alyssa (Coccola) and Jessica (Chiuchiarelli), and four precious great grandchildren, Francesca, Nicholas, Carlo Joseph and Benjamin. His impact on his family was so profound, and his presence will be sorely missed.
Silvio was a kind man of high ethics, evidencing true strength of character in both his personal and his professional dealings. Despite his publicly recognized commercial successes, he was, always, most committed to his family. Silvio was also a man of strong Catholic faith, serving as a role model to many.
Silvio and Jennie together found great joy in expressing their Italian heritage, traveling, enjoying golf and spending time with their family and countless friends.
A visitation service will be held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 496 E. Washington Street, Chagrin Falls, Ohio on October 25th at 9 a.m. immediately followed by a burial mass at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Silvio's name be made to The Sisters of Notre Dame, 13000 Auburn Road, Chardon, Ohio, 44024.
