Simeon Aronovich Rabinovich
May 8, 1932 – July 11, 2025
With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Simeon Rabinovich, who peacefully left this world surrounded by his loving family on July 11, 2025, at the age of 93.
Simeon was the true patriarch of a large and loving family. He is survived by his sister Mina, his two children - Alexander and Elena, his grandchildren - Julia and Vitaly, as well as 11 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Simeon was born on May 8, 1932, in the city of Bobruisk, Belarus. His early years were marked by hardship and resilience. At the start of World War II, his family was forced to evacuate Belarus under enemy bombardment, enduring hunger, cold, and extremely difficult living conditions. After the war, they settled in Minsk, where Semyon graduated from the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute and became a civil engineer - a profession that perfectly suited his sharp mind and creative spirit. He ended his professional career as Deputy Director of the Republican Scientific and Production Association "Belbyttechnika."
It was in Minsk that he met the love of his life, Olga Yacub. Simeon was a devoted husband, and he and Olga shared a long and happy life built on trust and deep affection. They raised two children, Alexander and Elena, who inherited their father's strength, resilience, and values. Simeon was a deeply knowledgeable man and generously shared his wisdom with others. He loved to sing, recite poetry, and play the card game preference. He was a loyal friend and a gracious host.
In 1995, Semyon led the family's move to the United States - a bold and hopeful decision made for the future of his children and grandchildren. He was proud of the new life his family built and took great joy in watching them thrive in their new home. Simeon adored his family and was always focused on making sure they were well fed, comfortable, and cared for. He was the heart of the family - the one around whom everyone gathered.
Simeon's kindness, extraordinary generosity, and unwavering love for his family will never be forgotten.
