"Loving husband, father and grandfather"
Simon Paul Collins, age 60, of Watertown, passed away peacefully November 15, 2025 with his beloved wife by his side in the VITAS Unit at Saint Mary Hospital. He was the loving husband of Valarie (Santagati) Collins.
Simon was born March 12, 1965 in Woking, England, a son of the late John and Vera (Lane) Collins. He came to the United States at the age of two and resided and was educated in the Milford Connecticut school system. Simon worked as a plumber and Pipefitter for union local 777 for over 20 years.
Besides his loving wife of over 23 years, he leaves his son Ryan Collins and his partner Jessie Gulianello of Milford, a daughter Grace Leonardi and her fiancé Dylan Sanborn of Groton, a stepson Dylan Carlson of Watertown, his granddaughters Melody Willsey and Willow-Leonardi Sanborn.
Arrangements: Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of his family. There are no calling hours. Chase Parkway Memorial/Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury is assisting his family with arrangements.

Earlier today
I met Simon during our years at Live Oaks grammar school in Milford. We also played on the Woodmont Packers football team for years. I remember Simon doing the King Kong roar every play beating his chest! Went to school with Simon and we stayed friends throughout the years running into each other frequently. I will miss him and sad that he is gone. RIP old friend.
