Simon Escamilla, 81, entered eternal rest Monday, October 25, 2021, in Roma surrounded by his family. Mr. Escamilla is survived by his wife, Norma Escamilla; four children, Maria Garza, Ricardo Escamilla, Roberto Escamilla, and Lora Escamilla. Visitation will begin at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, Rosary at 6 p.m. This will take place at Sanchez Funeral Home 301 E 2 nd St. Rio Grande City, TX 78582. Prayers and Church services will follow on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at 9 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Rio Grande City. Simon was born on October 15, 1940, in Beeville, Texas, and was the son of Daniel and Lorenza Escamilla. Simon was happily married to Norma Villarreal and was a great husband, father, and friend. His passion was training and racing quarter horses for a living and enjoyed being outdoors. He loved to travel, spend time with family, and help others in need. Simon was a great role model and mentor to his children. He was known by others for his famous horses and great personality.
