Simon "Pete" Peter Land, Sr., age 64, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 4, 2025. Born on December 5, 1960, he was the cherished son of the late Earl Land Sr. and Ruby (nee Riddle) Hager and step father John Hager.
Simon was a devoted father to Simon Peter Land, Jr. and wife Autumn, and Roslynn Land Smith and husband Stedmond. He was a proud grandfather to Sydnee, Carol-Ann, True, Serenity, Patience, Kolton, Kodiak, Fawkes, Jakayla, Myah, A'Livia, Aurora and one great granddaughter Lorelai. Simon also has two great grand babies on the way. He is also survived by his siblings Paul Land and Rebecca Pape and was preceded in death by his brothers Earl Land Jr., Charles Land, and sisters Patricia Marshall and Carol Land Duffey.
A retired truck driver for Yellow, Simon, was known for his easy going nature and quiet strength. He carried himself with a sense of class and grace and possessed a remarkable musical talent-able to play nearly any instrument he picked up. His gentle spirit extended to all who knew him, including his beloved feline companions, Asher and Ashley.
Simon's faith in Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of his life. When health allowed, he found spiritual nourishment and fellowship at Lighthouse Church of God in Sycamore Township, his cherished church home.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Lighthouse Church of God, 4305 Sycamore Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45236. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Keith Mapes.
