Simon Padilla

Simon was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He retired from the Harlingen Independent School District after many years of dedicated service. In his retirement, Simon found joy in tending to his yard, grilling and sharing meals with his family, and dining at some of his favorite local restaurants, including El Pato, Don Cucu's, and Wendy's. Above all, Simon cherished reading his Bible daily and spending meaningful time with his loved ones.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Consuelo P. Padilla, and their six children. Also cherishing his memory are thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of whom were a great source of pride and joy in his life.

Simon was preceded in death by his parents, Marcos Padilla and Maximiana Torres, as well as numerous brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Funeral services will depart the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. for a 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Harlingen. Interment will follow at Ashland Memorial Park Cemetery, Harlingen.

Pallbearers will be his son-in-law, Ernesto Morales, his oldest grandson who he loved like a son, James Cavazos, and his grandchildren:, Isaac Hobbs, Amber Hobbs, Savanah Hobbs, and Ashley Hobbs.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Rudy Garza Funeral Home in Harlingen, Texas.

Simon will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
