Simone Davis Carr was born April 22, 1966, to the late Jewell Davis Hill and Thurman Smith, Jr. in Cartersville, Georgia. In addition to Simone’s parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Edna Davis, Thurman Sr. and Mary Willie Smith; father-in-law, William Carr; brother, Kelly Davis and sisters, Sherry Green and Tracey Davis.
Growing up, Simone was educated in the Cartersville City School System and graduated with the Cartersville High School Class of 1985 in which she was also crowned Homecoming Queen that same year. Upon graduation, she attended Tuskegee University for about a year and soon thereafter obtained employment with the First Brands Corporation.
During her employment at First Brands, she made many lifelong friends, but one chance encounter with a gentleman by the name of Ashley Carr in 1998, changed her life for the best. Anyone who knows Simone knows that she will say the first thing that comes to mind. With that said, the first words she uttered to Ashley were, “I don’t want any of your raggedy pizza anyway.”
Upon meeting, Simone and Ashley developed a solid friendship and courtship which eventually led to a simple, private marriage ceremony on March 2, 2001. During that union, Simone completed her degree in Finance at Kennesaw State University and utilized those skills and talents in the banking industry with Truist Bank.
Throughout her life, Simone impacted several people and was a solid rock to many. Her superpowers include loyalty, straightforwardness, unwavering support, strength, humility, and an unmatched devotion to her husband, Ashley Carr.
Left to cherish her memory, her husband, Ashley Carr; bonus daughter, Carmen Jackson, and fur baby, Willow; sisters, Stevie (Earl) Tilledge, Nicole Smith, Sequoyah Davenport, and Kaliah Hill; brothers, Anthony (Rhonda) Davis, Samuel Smith, Bennie Robinson, Roderick Carter, Rodney Smith, Chad (Alexis) Carr, Antonio Carr, and William Carr, Jr.; aunt, Jean Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
