Simone W. "Walcott" Gately

Simone W. Gately, of Marlborough, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026, at the age of 89 surrounded by her children and other close family members. She was born on November 30, 1936.

Simone was predeceased by her beloved husband, Thomas D. Gately; her father, Harold I. Walcott; her mother, Lillian R. Walcott; and her brothers, Jack Walcott and Paul Walcott.

She was a loving and devoted mother to her six children, a cherished grandmother to eleven grandchildren, a proud great-grandmother to seven great-grandchildren, beloved aunt to many close nieces and nephews. Family was at the center of Simone's life, and she set a lasting example for her children through her kindness, generosity, and unwavering willingness to help others in need.

Simone was a graduate of the University of Connecticut. She spent the majority of her professional career as a visiting physical therapist with a local home health association, where she brought compassion and care into the homes and lives of countless patients.

She especially enjoyed summers at Lake Boon in Hudson, where she could be found socializing, laughing, and playing cards or other games with family and friends; moments she treasured deeply.

Her warmth, generosity, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visiting hours will be held Friday, February 6, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Slattery Funeral Home, Marlborough. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, February 7, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthias Church, Marlborough.
