Simone, may the life you lived and built be your lasting legacy to all of us. Hope, strength, determination and love. Rest in Peace.

I first met Simone at a mutual friend´s home where a group of women would get together to do handwork. A few years later she moved in next door to me during the pandemic. We shared a a delight in the wildlife friends who visited our yards. Last spring we were visited by a young bear. I heard him at night and turned on my backyard light to get a photo of him enjoying the contents of a bird feeder. Sent it to her the next morning and she told me he´d enjoyed her feeders too. The next afternoon she texted to say that Young Bear was leaving their yard and heading my way. She and her husband have been very good neighbors to me, and it just feels so empty without her. She worked so hard for environmental justice and meant so much to so many. Her handwork was exquisite! She was a true shining light in this difficult world and will be deeply missed!
