Simonne Beaudette Chandonnet 101 

Wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother

Simonne Chandonnet, wife of Edward Chandonnet to whom she was married for 66 years passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on July 4, 2024. She was a life-long resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, and most recently the Saab Residence, an assisted living facility, also in Lowell. 

Simonne was born April 5, 1923, and was the daughter of the late Adrien O. and Alice (Dubois) Beaudette. She was also the stepdaughter of Angelle Ostiguy Beaudette. Simonne was for many years, a communicant of the former Saint Louis de France Church in Lowell, and most recently belonged to St. Marguerite D’Youville Parish in Dracut. She received her early education from the Sisters of the Assumption at Saint Louis de France School, and then graduated from Lowell Trade School. Before retiring, she was employed for many years at the Bon Marche Beauty Salon as a hairdresser. 

Simonne took great pride and pleasure in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always ready to attend parties and gatherings of which there were many memorable ones over the years. 

She is survived by a daughter, Ruth and her husband, Roger Dubois of Lowell; a son, Roland and his wife, Dianne of Pelham, NH; a son, Andre and his wife, Dottie of Lowell; and a son, Normand of FL. Additionally she leaves behind her grandchildren: Michelle and her husband, Robert, Andre and his wife, Donna, Danielle, Marc and his wife, Jody, Michael and his wife, Jennifer, Timothy and his wife Heidi, and Nicole and her husband Manny; great-grandchildren: Jake, Alison, Abrielle, Emily, Savanah, Christian, Jaelyn, Kinley, Charlie, Zachary, Abigail, Joshua, Leõn, and Trevor, and step great-grandchildren: Padraig, Michael, Isabella and Kristine.

Simonne also leaves behind a sister, Estelle Tarpinian, and a sister-in-law, Mae Chandonnet, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by four sisters: Gabrielle and husband Andrew Baribeault, Germaine Beaudette, Dolores and husband Andrew Brouillette, Jeanne and husband Robert Tousignant; and three brothers: Harvey and his wife Hazel Beaudette, Victor and his wife, Claire Beaudette, Andre and his wife, Lorraine Beaudette. She is also predeceased by her daughter-in-law Deborah Chandonnet, her granddaughter Danielle’s husband Derek Metzler, and brother-in-law Charles Tarpinian. She was the great-grandmother to the late Gracie and Nathan Metzler. 

She was also great friends with Albert and Georgette Guilbeault, Carl and Rita Morin, Bernard, Pauline, and Jane Lemoine, and so many other friends.

It being Simonne’s wish, there will be no visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Wednesday, July 10th at 11:00am at Ste. Marguerite D’Youville Parish in Dracut.
