Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carl W. Hall Funeral Services on Mar. 15, 2026.
Simpson M. Calhoun, 93, of Leavittsburg, OH went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born June 25, 1932 in Philippi, WV, a son of the late Mayberry and Florence (Overfield) Calhoun. On August 31, 1957, he married Norma E. Hanna, and they have spent the last 68 years happily married.

Simpson was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Germany as part of the Medical Corps during the Korean War. He worked at Grinnell Corp. for 19 years and then General Motors Lordstown for 27 years as a toolmaker.

He was a longtime member of the Morgandale Church of the Nazarene. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and raising Red Poll Cattle on his farm. He and Norma's travels encompassed much of the USA and many locations abroad.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Norma E. Calhoun of Leavittsburg, OH; daughters, Deborah (Russ) Teffner of Champion, OH; Joanne (Chuck) Nicholson of Howland, OH; Sharon (Rick) Burney of Springfield, MO; Jane (Jack) Muir of Anderson, SC; grandchildren Brian (Amy) Roberts, Hannah (Deven) Cooper, Molly Burney and Colton Burney; great-grandchildren, Daisy and Brantley Roberts; siblings, Delane (Susie) Calhoun of Lordstown, Viola Marlowe, and Carl (Sandy) Calhoun all of Leavittsburg, Ohio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Scott, Ralph and Paul Calhoun.

Services will be held at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at 12:30PM. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 17, 2026 from 5PM to 7PM at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, and again one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna, OH.

The family requests that material contributions be made to the Morgandale Church of the Nazarene (1985 Overland Ave NE, Warren, OH 44483), in his memory.
