Sinclair Hill passed into his eternal rest on September 10, 2025 in Deltona, Florida at the age of 87. Born December 25, 1937, in Barbados, Sinclair was raised in the Parish of St. Michael, where he attended St. Giles' Boys School. From a young age, he was deeply influenced by his mother, who instilled in him the values of punctuality, discipline, and integrity - principles that would guide him throughout his life. In 1958, Sinclair began his career in service by joining the Royal Barbados Police Force, where he quickly became known for his dedication and calm leadership. A decade later, in 1968, he immigrated to the United States, reuniting with his beloved wife, Ruby, with whom he shared 65 years of marriage. Settling in New Jersey, Sinclair began a new chapter in his professional journey at Princeton University, joining the Department of Public Safety as a security officer. His tireless work ethic and natural leadership led to his promotion to Proctor Supervisor in 1975, and later to Associate Director of Public Safety in 1987. Sinclair served the Princeton community with pride for over 30 years, earning the respect of colleagues, students, and faculty alike. A respected figure in Collegiate security, Sinclair was elected to the Executive Board of Directors of the North East Colleges and Universities Security Association (NECUSA). His career included distinguished moments such as meeting Presidents Bill Clinton and George Bush during their visits to Princeton. After his retirement in 2001, Sinclair and Ruby relocated to Florida, where they enjoyed their later years in peace and comfort. As devoted Pentecostals, their faith was a cornerstone of their life and a source of strength and guidance throughout their marriage. Sinclair leaves to cherish the memories of his life, his wife, Ruby Hill; his beloved daughter, Wendy Powell, and her husband, Aldo Powell; granddaughter, Kiah Powell; brother, Keith Hill; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends that will miss him dearly. He is preceded in death by his brother, Victor Hill; sisters, Cleo, Monica and Celia. Sinclair will be forever remembered for his unwavering dedication to service, his quiet strength, his faith, and the legacy of integrity he leaves behind.
