Sister Carol Brunner, SSND (Sister Mary Joseph, SSND), 78. Born in Chicago, IL, on November 12, 1947. Died on November 18, 2025, at Ascension Resurrection Life Center, in Chicago. Member of the School Sisters of Notre Dame for 58 years. Elementary school teacher at St. James in Highwood, IL; St. Anne in Dixon; St. John De La Salle in Chicago; St. Constance in Chicago; St. Mary in DeKalb, IL. High school teacher at Madonna High School. Director of Vocations for SSND. Nurse at Ravenswood Hospital and St. Francis Nursing and Rehab in Evanston. Medical Advocate for SSND Sisters at Resurrection Life Center in Chicago. Prayer and presence at Ascension Resurrection Life Center in Chicago. Beloved daughter of the late Joseph Brunner and the late Margaret (nee Zirkel) Brunner. Dear sister of the late Norman Brunner (Nancy, Ann), the late Gerard Brunner (the late Barbara). Loving aunt to Debbie (Peter), Trish (Paul), Norman, Susie (Randy), Gerard, Jr. (Karen), Joanne and Philip (Nicole). Devoted great-aunt to many. Loving, loyal and faithful friend to multiple School Sisters of Notre Dame, and all who knew her.
Visitation and service on Friday, November 28, at Ascension Resurrection Life Center from 1-2 pm. Visitation Saturday, November 29th from 10:00 am until the time of Mass at 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Angels Chapel at Marian Village, 15624 Marian Drive, Homer Glen, IL. Int Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Alsip. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the SSND Development Office at Villa Assumpta 6401 N.
