Father Gill was a mentor and friend to me and my daughter for years through his involvement with the Agape Community in Hardwick, MA. My daughter and I visited him at Weston with the Holy Cross community many times during his time there. I am very grateful that we were able to continue our relationship. Despite his failing health, he remained in good spirits. We will never forget his beautiful life.

David was the dedicated chaplain in non-residence to the Agape Community in Hardwick, MA, where he presided over Easter Vigil yearly. He was a member of Agape's Mission Council Advisory Board, and contributed to prayer, discussion and action around gospel nonviolence, which he then carried to the Condolezza Rice protest at BC when she was awarded an honorary degree, becoming the behind the scenes organizer of the faculty stand out, with over 200 faculty hold signs: "Not In My Name." David's talk that graduation day to the honors class that day, was a prophetic claiming of Jesus as the nonviolent One, in which David invoked the nonviolent lineage of Jesus, Dorothy Day, MLK and on. David never took credit for this firm witness, but faculty conveyed that he was the inspiration. Presente David, and we will carry your lineage of the great Jesuit tradition of Daniel Berrigan SJ with us at Agape. You gave us so much, and we will give back your legacy to the students who come to Agape to learn about nonviolence.
