Skye Oraczewski Obituary

Published by Legacy from Sep. 23 to Sep. 24, 2025.
Skye Oraczewski passed away unexpectedly on September 21, 2025, at the age of 22. She was born on October 3, 2002 in Norfolk, VA and was a resident of Elizabeth City, NC. In her short yet vibrant life, Skye embodied a spirit of compassion and warmth that touched everyone she encountered.

As an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Skye dedicated herself to helping others in their times of need. Her commitment to service and her ability to offer comfort and care were a testament to her generous and empathetic nature. Each day, she strived to make a difference, lending a hand wherever she could and spreading kindness and hope.

Outside of her professional life, Skye found joy in the simplicity of life's moments. She loved spending time at the beach, where the rhythm of the waves mirrored her bright and lively spirit. She was also an enthusiastic player of pickleball, finding delight in both the sport and the community it fostered.

Skye treasured her family above all else and ensured that they were always central to her life. She was deeply devoted to her loved ones, constantly nurturing those relationships and creating memories that would be cherished forever. Her love for family was boundless, and she made sure they knew how much they meant to her.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, survived by the love of her life, Matthew Taylor; her mother, Jennifer Oraczewski, and her fiancé, Tony Toxey; her father, Ron Oraczewski, and his wife, Kyrstyn; her sisters, Kylie and Caydence Oraczewski; her brothers, Liam Toxey and Bryson Oraczewski; her step-siblings, Noah, Nate, and Naomi; her grandmother, Carol Bean and her husband, Kelly; her grandfather, Richard Dozier and his wife, Debbie Wagner; her grandmother, Sue Oraczewski; her grandfather, Steve Goldston; her aunts, Sarah Bean and her husband, Mikey, and Jackie Thorne and her husband, John; her uncles, Jason Dozier and Anthony Goldston; her cousin, Allie Goldston; and many extended relatives and friends.

The family would like to give special, heartfelt thanks to the brave individuals who put their lives at risk to allow Skye's family to see her one more time: Adam Griswold, Anthony Griswold, Brandon Trueblood, Gage Heath, and Chris McDaniel.

A celebration of Skye's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5033 Rouse Dr, Virginia Beach, VA 23462. Friends and family are invited to gather and remember Skye's bright spirit and the indelible mark she left on the world.

If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever. Gone too soon but always in our hearts.

Yesterday

To the family of Skye, my heart goes out to all of you. My heart is broken in the loss of Mike. They left this earth doing what was important to them, helping others. We can find comfort in knowing how special each of them were, although our hearts are shattered. One day we will remember cherished memories without crying, but not today...not tomorrow, nor in the days soon after. As each of our families look for healing, I will be praying for you. Praying for strength to endure, peace to replace your pain, and love to fill your hearts without tears. Sincerely,
