Skylar Lorraine Reeves

Skylar Lorraine Reeves, aged 6, returned to the stars on March 7, 2026. A bright spark born on May 21, 2019, in Indianapolis, IN, she infused joy into our lives with her infectious laughter and boundless curiosity.

The cherished daughter of Anna Marie Perkins Reeves, Skylar's bond with her mother was a fortress of tenderness and strength. Her adoring younger sister, Adalina Rayne Friend, affectionately known as "Sissy," idolized Skylar, mirroring her giggles and seeking her guidance. Skylar was also the apple of her grandmother Jaime Louise Moore's eye, "Gigi" and her spouse Danny "pop pop" whose nurturing warmth was a pillar in Skylar's life. Another source of maternal love, Grandma Tanail Friend and also her dad Jonathan Friend, contributed to the garden of care in which Skylar flourished. Skylar is also survived by her adopted grandparents, Leyna "Mime" and Raymond "pap pap" Menefee and their three children. Skylar Rose Connor Puliatti, her godmother, also stood as a guard of honor in shaping Skylar's understanding of loyalty and connections beyond blood. Skylar is also survived by a host of extended family members: cousins, aunts, uncles, and great-grandparents, who will all fondly remember Skylar as a bright and vibrant part of their family.

In her six vibrant years, Skylar embraced life with a fervor that could only be matched by the brightness of her smile. She was a spirit of light and joy, with a love for all creatures, great and small, especially her pets Hunter, Midnight and Lynx. She also had the ability to find wonder in every moment. Her laughter was a symphony that resonated in the hearts of those who knew her, and her imagination crafted worlds that she eagerly explored with her friends and family. Skylar was a first-grade student at Brookhaven Elementary School, where she was an adventurous peer and enjoyed building friendships with her classmates.

Private services were held at McCulla Funeral Home on Friday, March 13, 2026, with Pastor Stacey Chrise-Tritt officiating, everyone in attendance wore bright colors to help shine and reflect Skylar's joy and life. Online condolences may be extended to the family at www.McCulla.com
