Socorro Torres Obituary
Socorro was born on August 8, 1938 in Laredo, TX to the late Gilbert and Josephina (Sandaval) Cavazos. On July 31, 1979 she married Hector Torres, who preceded her in death in 2001. Together with Hector, Socorro owned and operated Los Gallitos restaurant in Paulding for 30 years. She was a member of Divine Mercy Catholic Parish in Paulding. More than anything, Socorro loved spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
Socorro will be lovingly missed by her sons: Sylvester Torres, Antwerp, OH; Marcos Torres, Fort Wayne, IN; Johnny Gonzales, Paulding, OH; daughters: Sabrina Torres, Antwerp, OH; Jayla Wright, Antwerp, OH; stepsons: David Torres, Philadelphia, PA; Ron Torres, Philadelphia, PA; Jimmy Torres, Philadelphia, PA; Herman Torres, Philadelphia, PA; Alex Torres, Philadelphia, PA; Hector Torres, Jr., Philadelphia, PA; sister, Rita Santana; her best friend for over 40 years, Rosa Luna; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, Socorro was preceded in death by her son, Ernest Gonzales; brothers: Lee Cavazos, Beto Cavazos, Victor Cavazos, Ramon Cavazos, Manuel Cavazos; sister, Viola Sepulveda.
Funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Den Herder Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Paulding Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until time of services on Thursday at the funeral home.
