Soledad Munoz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Guerra & Gutierrez Mortuary - Whittier on Dec. 9, 2025.
Soledad "Sadie" Muñoz, 81, of Reno, Nevada, passed away on November 25, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born in Denver, Colorado, Sadie was one of eleven children and grew up learning to be strong, resilient, unwaveringly loyal, and fiercely loving-qualities she carried throughout her life.
Sadie spent most of her life in Los Angeles, where she built her family, her friendships, and a legacy of humor, warmth, and unforgettable presence. She shared a lifetime of devotion with her husband, Leonard Muñoz, the love of her life. Together, they created a home filled with laughter, adventure, and family love-one that shaped the generations that followed.
In 2008, Sadie moved to Reno to be close to her children and grandchildren, who were the center of her world. Fun, vivacious, and unafraid to stand out, she was known for her bright, magnetic spirit; a fashion sense as bold as her personality; ever-changing, on-trend hairstyles; and a laugh that filled every room.
She was the matriarch of her family-strong-willed, nurturing, and deeply protective. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, auntie, and comadre, she made everyone around her feel seen, supported, and loved. Her grandchildren adored her, and their bond was unbreakable-requesting to be called Grandma Pretty or Grandma Bling-Bling. She teased playfully, told stories with sparkle, and brought warmth and humor to every gathering.
Sadie loved her family, loved to travel, and loved to laugh-especially when surrounded by those she cherished. Her life was joyful, colorful, and full of flair.
Sadie is survived by her husband, Leonard Gilbert Muñoz; daughter Melanie Lazear and son-in-law Scott Lazear, and her grandsons Grayson and Ian Lazear; and by her son Leonard Greg Muñoz, daughter-in-law Claire Muñoz, and her grandchildren Landon and Ava Muñoz. She leaves behind a large extended family who will forever carry her strength, her stories, and her joy in their hearts.
