Sondra J. Hockensmith, age 64, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born November 21, 1956, she was the daughter of the late John and Ruth Ricker Hockensmith, Sr.
Sondra was a 1974 graduate of CASHS. She worked as an LPN for many years, lastly at Keystone Women's Care, retiring in 2018. She enjoyed caring for her pets; she treated them like her children.
She is survived by two nephews, Brett Hockensmith of Chambersburg, PA, Colby Hockensmith (wife Misti) of AL; a niece, Lilaney "Lonnie" Houser of Chambersburg; two great nephews, Spencer Hockensmith and Brady Houser; two great nieces, Jenalea Houser and Brooklynn Hockensmith; and two siblings, John, Jr. and Terry Hockensmith both of Chambersburg, PA.
Services and interment will be private. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made in her name to Mountainside Pet Rescue, 7705 Upper Horse Valley Rd., Upperstrasburg, PA 17265 or to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Rd. West, Chambersburg, PA 17201.

I just wanted to share that I graduated with Sandy and had some classes with her in high school. I was a car nut and I remember her driving a Ford Falcon I believe. She told us about working on that car and all of the guys were impressed!

I graduated with Sandy In "74" I just saw her at the capital restaurant not long ago. Sending condolences to the family.
