Sondra Newby Keys

Sondra Newby Keys, 82, of Macon, Georgia, passed away quietly and peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness on Sunday, February 22, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2026, in the Chapel of Hart’s at the Cupola, with Reverend Jason Blankenship officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.

Daughter of the late Herbert Hunter Newby and Annie Dora Little Newby, Sondra was born in Macon on March 14, 1943. She worked for over 35 years as a beauty consultant with Merle Norman and Estée Lauder. She enjoyed helping others look and feel their best and built many lasting friendships through her work.

She was a member of Mikado Baptist Church, where she cherished her church family and her faith. She was also an active participant in Silver Sneakers. She loved shopping and especially loved cooking. She taught many of her family members how to cook and was known as a wonderful homemaker who kept a warm and welcoming home.

Sondra will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Amy Weiche (Donny) of Macon; son, Kevin Grover Keys (Nikki) of Macon; grandchildren, Dustin Weiche (Corie), Ashley Anne Weiche, Sydney Adela Weiche (Agustin), and Andrew James Weiche (Carlyn), all of Macon; great grandchildren: Mattie and John; cousins: Frank Newby of Macon, and Kenneth Newby (Cynthia) of Danville, Georgia; and loving caregiver and bonus daughter, Tracy Quarles of Warner Robins.

In addition to her parents, Sondra was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Grover Pass Keys, and daughter, Stacy Anne Keys.
