Sondra ("Sandy") K. Yasger passed away peacefully at Northwest Community Hospital on July 10, 2023. Sondra was born on July 16, 1935 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. She graduated from Wayland Academy, a preparatory high school in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin where she met life-long friends. In 1958, she was united in marriage to David S. Yasger. Together they moved to Green Bay, Wisconsin, started a family and became season ticket holders for the Green Bay Packers. They raised their family of 3 children in Green Bay and Arlington Heights, Illinois.
Sondra was a beautiful person and a wonderful teacher to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren teaching them, by example or otherwise, life lessons, cooking lessons and everything in between. She also enjoyed golf, bridge, spending time with friends, vacationing in Door County, Wisconsin, the Green Bay Packers and, very selectively, some opposing NFL quarterbacks. She also adored her neighbors and neighborhood in Arlington Heights where she lived the past 50 years.
Sondra is survived by her children Elizabeth (Charles) Jones, Paul (Sheryl) Yasger and Jane (James) Burns as well as her grandchildren McKenzie, Jimmy and Sophia.
She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years David S. Yasger as well as her parents Lester and Lorayne (nee Senderhauf) Komers.
Visitation will take place on Friday, July 14, 2023, from 9:00am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00am at St. James Catholic Church 831 North Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. James Catholic Church in memory of Sondra.
