Sonia R. Hardgraves

AYER: Sonia R. (Davis) Hardgraves, 62, of Ayer died unexpectedly Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at the University of Massachusetts – Memorial Hospital, Worcester.

Sonia was born at Cutler Army Hospital, Ft. Devens October 4, 1963 a daughter of Christine W. (Colom) Anderson and the late Roland Davis, Jr. and was a lifelong Ayer resident. She was a graduate of Ayer High School, class of 1981.

She had been a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and enjoyed cooking, gardening and crocheting.

In addition to her mother of Ayer, Sonia leaves her son, Mark V. Hardgraves, Jr. and his wife Christina of Gardner; her daughter, Jocelyn Y. Ellis and her husband Marcus of Ayer; her brother, Larry C. Anderson Jr., of Jefferson Hills, PA; her sisters, Janet Davis and her husband, Mario Merlo, of Norfolk, VA, Karen Montoya and her husband, Michael, of Townsend, Tamara Salmon and her husband Peter of Ayer, Tracy Blyther of Worcester and two grandchildren, Alijah Hardgraves and Ezra Hardgraves. She also leaves behind beloved step-sons and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her stepfather Larry C. Anderson Sr. of Ayer in 2017.

Sonia had worked as a Certified Nurse's Assistant in several area health care facilities and physician's offices.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, March 7th, 2026 at New Hope Community Church, 139 Sandy Pond Rd, Ayer, followed by a Celebration of Life at St. Anthony's Parish Hall, 33 Chapel St. Shirley
