Sonja Lee Geniac, age 84, of Grosse Ile, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on December 15, 1940, in Neon, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Moses and Nettie (Johnson) Fox.
Sonja loved all things Disney and found joy in the magic and wonder it brought. She was an avid fan of wrestling, always cheering on her favorites with excitement and enthusiasm. A lifelong admirer of Bob Seger, she attended his concerts every chance she had and his music remained a constant in her life.
She had a green thumb and took great pride in her flower gardens. Her favorite flower was roses. Sonja also enjoyed the thrill of a good game of 3-card poker or Bingo, where her friendly and competitive spirit always shone through.
Above all, Sonja cherished her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy, and she loved celebrating life's moments with them, whether big or small. Her warmth, laughter, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Steve Fox and Dennis Fox; and her sister-in-law, Paulette Hall.
Sonja is survived by her children, Kenneth (Gloria) Hill, Michael (Shelley) Southworth, and Michelle (Susan Manning) Rupert; her grandchildren, Crystal (Paul) Davis, Max Hill, Ashli (Ryan) Piper, Logan Southworth, Melody Southworth, Mark (Jasmine) Rupert Jr., James (Tiffany) Rupert, and Jennifer Blumberg; her great-grandchildren, Truitt, Chase, Landen, Rylie, Lorelai, Isabella, Dillon, Haleigh, Christian, Willow, James Jr., Emma, Michael, and Allysia; great-great grandchildren, Ivy, and Imani; and her siblings, Frank (Eillean) Hall, Jeff Hall, and Garry (Charlie) Hall.
Visitation will be held at Bobcean Funeral Home, Flat Rock Chapel, on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with Funeral Services at 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sonja's memory may be made to her family.
