Sonja Power Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jan. 9, 2026.
Sonja Ann Power, age 87, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026. She was born on September 22, 1938, in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, to Ira (Jack) and Virginia Alexander. Sonja lived an adventurous life marked by strength, loyalty, and a deep, unwavering love for those she cared for.
Sonja was known for her feisty spirit and unrelenting passion for the people she loved. Fiercely protective and endlessly devoted, she stood firmly beside her family and friends and never hesitated to speak her mind. Those who knew her best understood that behind her strong personality was a heart full of care, commitment, and love.
Throughout her working years, Sonja held a variety of roles, including flight attendant and positions in retail and sales-each well-suited to her confidence, determination, and people-centered nature. She especially loved traveling and staying connected with friends and family, valuing relationships above all else.
Sonja was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Donald Power.
She is lovingly remembered by those closest to her-her siblings, and the generations of family who followed, including children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren-whose lives were shaped by her love and strength.
Sonja will be remembered for her strength, loyalty, and the unmistakable presence she brought into the lives of those around her. Her legacy lives on through her family and the many lives she touched.
At Sonja's request, there will be no service at this time.
