In loving memory of Sonya Rae Bartlett, who passed away at her home in Fredericksburg, Virginia on August 2nd, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Washington DC on August 10th, 1967, graduated from Osbourn High School in
Manassas, Va, and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in marketing from Mary Baldwin College in Staunton Va. After graduation, she took a job with IBM Federal Credit Union in
Manassas, Va.
In April 1990, her future husband, Jeff Bartlett, walked into her life. On April 2, 1994, they wed and shortly after moved to Fredericksburg to start their life together in 1996. After a short stay with Collegiate Funding Services in Fredericksburg, she found her home at Atlantic Union Bank, where for 20 years, she was the Accounts Payable Manager.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jeff Bartlett, and their two beautiful daughters, Devon (Marcus) Hill and Peyton Bartlett. She also leaves behind her mother, Susan Scheiter; her father and step-mother, Fred and Betti Scheiter; sister and brother-in-law, Tonia and Tony Dickins; her nephew and niece, Chase and Hailey Dickins; as well as her father and mother-in-law, Mike and Pat Bartlett; sister and brother-in-law, Beth and Bryan Meador; her nephew and niece Chandler and Lauren Meador; and her four-legged fury friend and companion, Smokey, the family dog.
Her family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 11, 2023 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A memorial service will be held at 12 pm on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church, 308 Hanover St., Fredericksburg. A reception will follow the service.
