I am so sorry, I just heard of Spero's passing. Like his mother and father, he was loved by everyone. His legacy ripples still. It was special to know him. May his memory be eternal. George Johns

I was just made aware of Spero's passing. My sincere condolences to his loved ones. Spero was a true gentleman.

Spero, we met at Central Connecticut State College in January 1972, determined by college admissions that we were a good match to be roommates in Sheridan Hall. We started out as "matched" roommates but chose to be lifelong friends; nearly 54 years of an unbelievable and endearing friendship.

We shared many life events and good times together. I enjoyed riding our bikes together for years at the West Hartford Reservoir and sitting on the banks of the reservoir talking about anything and everything, our annual rides to the Southington Apple Festival and our 58 mile round trip ride up the rails to trails bike path from Farmington into Massachusetts.
Attending countless "oldies" concerts at the Wolf´s Den at Mohegan Sun, meeting wonderful people and seeing many great performers that we admired and listened to growing up. I will miss our frequent breakfasts, again, talking about anything and everything, at times, for hours.

When faced with sad and challenging life events, your immediate extended hand and supportive nature was comforting and greatly appreciated.

Spero, you were such a big influence and part of my life that will be sorely missed. A type of friend that can´t be replaced and a void that will never be filled. I do and will always have fond memories of our times together and your devotion to family, friends and Linda, who you told me was the love of your life and your regret having not met her sooner. Oh yes, and I won´t forget your sense of humor, especially your quick wit. May God bless you.

How lucky we have been to have known Spero since 2011, when we purchased the house next door to his mother, Artie, in West Hartford. Spero was articulate and wise, and thoroughly researched everything that interested him. He will be missed.
