SSG James Sifford (RET) Obituary
SSG James Douglas Bud” Sifford, 81 of Fayetteville passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2024 in his home.
James was born in Cabarrus County, NC on March 8, 1943, son to the late George Ralph Sifford and Bertie Elaine Morgan Sifford. James retired from the US Army in 1982 having served many tours in Vietnam during his Military career. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, George Sifford Jr, Edward Sifford and 2 sisters, Wanda Teal and Shirley Goodman. SSG Sifford will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Sifford of the home; a son, Hieu Sifford and wife Cindy of Fayetteville, NC; a sister, Barbara Patterson of Concord, NC; 2 grandchildren, Jessica Williams and husband Dylan of Fayetteville, NC and Timothy Sifford and wife Jaimie of Hope Mills, NC; 6 great grandchildren, Ava and Chase Williams, Tyler, Hailey, and Emma Sifford and Nicholas Bonsante; and many extended family members and friends.
Funeral services with Full Military Honors will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, 8220 Bragg Blvd, Fort Liberty, NC. Family will attend a private viewing at Lafayette Funeral Home at 12 noon and then be escorted to Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.
