Stacey Allyn Aucoin

Stacey Allyn Aucoin, 62, died October 24, 2025, at UVA Hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia. Stacey was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Beverly (Hollier) Aucoin and to the late Joseph G. Aucoin, Jr. on November 28, 1962. She grew up in south Louisiana surrounded by a large, close-knit Cajun family with a heritage of delicious food, live music, dancing, parades and joyous celebrations of holidays and life.

Stacey led a rich and varied life, in the United States, England and Wales; she squeezed every bit of sweetness out of each day. She enjoyed swimming, hiking, gardening and walking dogs. For family and friends, she was an inspiring example of daily spirituality and strength as she managed her alcohol addiction and helped others with their recovery.

Since 2016, Stacey has lived in Madison, Virginia with her devoted husband, Shane Clark. She managed the aquatics program at a local wellness center, hiked in the Shenandoah National Park, made frequent trips to visit her much-loved daughters and granddaughters, and participated in a local Alcoholics Anonymous group.

Stacey is survived by her husband, Shane Clark; daughter Jessica Watkins in Florida; daughter Megan Watkins (Justin Reed) in Texas; daughter Chelsea (Brandon) Maxwell and granddaughters Ella and Abigail in Florida; mother Beverly Aucoin in Culpeper; brother Bryan (Kathleen) Aucoin in Reva and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph G. Aucoin, Jr. and sisters Wendy Aucoin Pertuit and Christie Aucoin.

A funeral service will be held on November 7, 2025, at 11:00 am at Precious Blood Catholic Church, 114 East Edmundson St, Culpeper.

A private family celebration of Stacey's life is planned for spring 2026 in New Orleans, with interment at Westlawn Memorial Park in Gretna, Louisiana.

The family would like to express appreciation for the care that Stacey received from UVA Hospital's medical teams.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
