Stacey Braton, age 53, of Barnesville, MN, formerly of Grafton, ND passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024 at the Meadows Care Center in Fargo after a long battle with cancer.

Memorial Services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Barnesville, MN with Pastor Clay Ellingson officiating.

Visitation will be from 5-8 PM, Friday, January 19, 2024 at Dobmeier Funeral Home with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM.  Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the memorial service on Saturday.

Stacey Lynn McDonald was born on April 23, 1970 to Neil and Delores (Hammer) McDonald in Grafton, ND.  She grew up in Grafton where she attended school.  During her high school years she played clarinet in the band and one of the highlights was being in the Rose Bowl Parade.  She graduated in 1988.  Following high school she attended NDSU in Fargo for a year and then ventured off to the Twin Cities where she attended travel school.  She then began working for Trans Global Vacations for a few years before she moved back to Fargo.

In 1997, Glen’s best friend and Stacey’s best friend were dating and helped set them up.  They began dating that year and were united in marriage four years later.  On May 5, 2001 Stacey married Glen in her hometown of Grafton, ND.  They started out their married life living in Fargo.  Stacey began driving semis with Glen, transporting products all over the USA, including many trips to the west and east coasts.  She continued truck driving until their first son Tyler was born and Stacey became a stay-at-home mom.  They would add Krysta and Brandon to the family and Stacey loved caring for her kids as they grew up.  In 2006, they would make their home in Barnesville where they continue to live.

As the children got older, Stacey would go to work at Barnesville High School as a paraprofessional from 2017 to 2021, when she would get her diagnosis of cancer.  Stacey loved spending time with her family and being home in Grafton with her parents always warmed her heart.  Stacey made beautiful scrapbooks and enjoyed the weekend scrapbooking adventures with friends.  Her favorite TV shows included “Friends” and “Full House.”  Stacey was a happy go lucky, good natured person, who would joke “There’s a Song About That….”

Stacey is survived by her husband Glen, of Barnesville, three children: Tyler and Brandon of Barnesville, MN and Krysta Braton of Campbell, MN, her parents Neil and Delores McDonald, of Grafton, ND, one sister Teresa (Daniel) Dusek of Grafton, ND, and several uncles, aunts, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother Troy, and a few uncles and aunts.
