Stacey Anna Greeson, 58, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Floyd County, Georgia, on August 10, 1965, the daughter of the late R.M. and Barbara Stone Greeson. She was a member of the 1983 graduating class at Calhoun High School and a 2013 graduate of Covenant College, where she received her bachelor's degree in early childhood education. She began her teaching career with the Gordon County Board of Education at Ashworth Middle School for ten years and at Swain Elementary School for thirteen years. She was voted Teacher of the Year in 2019, received the Visionary Award in 2014, and was a member of Grace Church,
Survivors include her daughter, Kirbi Mincey; son, Colby Mincey; grandchildren, Sawyer Pass and Whit Burger; Sister, Kathy (Mike) Yanosy; brothers, Randy (Kathy) Greeson, Lane (Elisa) Greeson and Todd Greeson—several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Grace Church, 401 Peters St, Calhoun, GA 30701.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024, from Grace Church at 7:00 PM, with Rev. Stacy Hensley officiating.
In place of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in memory of Stacey Greeson at Gordon County Schools, 7300 Fairmount Hwy SE Calhoun, Georgia 30701, to provide for Special Education Students' Needs. For many years, Stacy helped with Gordon County Special Olympics and loved every minute of it.
