Stacey Hyde Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Pomeroy Funeral Home - Carsonville on Jan. 23, 2026.
CARSONVILLE- Stacey Marie Hyde, age 56, of Carsonville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 18, 2026 in her home.

She was born on August 16, 1969 in Pigeon, the daughter of the late Richard Klosowski and Dawn Reed.

Stacey was smart and resourceful. She spent much of her life as a mom and homemaker, ensuring her home always had food and that everything was in its place. As an adult, she worked hard- going back to school, earning valedictorian status and becoming a medical assistant. Later in life, she also served for five years on the Carsonville Village Council. She had a variety of creative interests throughout her life. She enjoyed learning and mastering new hobbies and crafts, from scrapbooking, painting figurines and crocheting to baking, party planning and candle making, to fixing and decorating houses with her partner, Joe. She loved a good thrift store and a bargain or a deal, just like her mom.

Most importantly, Stacey was fiercely dedicated to others, often sacrificing what she had to ensure those around her were taken care of- whether that meant a car, a place to stay, a hot meal, socks and blankets for the less fortunate, or simply someone to talk to. She always provided, especially for her family and the friends who became family along the way. She was never more than a phone call away.

She was especially close to her children and grandchildren. From family trips to first days of school, concerts, games and everything in between, she was their listening ear, their comfort and someone they could count on for both serious matters and fun. She was someone we could dance with and cry with, being the rock for her family. When she became a grandmother, she truly shined. Showing dedication by being at the hospital for their arrival and staying long nights with them in their best and worst moments. She truly made a special and unique relationship with each of them. It was her mission to share her love exactly as her mom did.

Stacey will be remembered as a kind, loving and energetic person who wanted to spread every ounce of love she had to those around her, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Courtney Holland and Ryan (Jessica) Steinwascher; her significant other, Joe Gurzick; her grandchildren, Aster, Jameson, Dorian, Emmett, Silas, Leighton, Jo-Jo, Lachlan and Colsen; her brothers, Sean, Rodney, Richie and Michael; and her dearest friend, Eric Holland Sr.

She was preceded in death by her son, Eric Holland Jr. and her grandson, Carter Steinwascher.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Stacey was the glue that connected the two different sides of our family. She will be truly missed. My all time favorite memory of her is at my wedding when she met my friends and said "I remember the days when Richie used to collect Star Wars toys." My friends laughed and said "used to?" "He still does!
