Oreshan, Stacia
COHOES - Stacia M. Oreshan, 96, passed away peacefully Monday, September 8, 2025, at her residence with her loving family by her side.
Born in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Wrobel Mrozko. She was educated in Cohoes schools and graduated from Cohoes High School. In her younger years she had worked for the N.Y. Telephone Co. She married her husband, Alex Oreshan Jr. in 1949, and together they raised their family until his passing in 1980. Thereafter, she returned to work with the check processing division of KeyBank until her retirement.
Stacia was first and foremost a dedicated and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was always happiest when surrounded by her family, organizing family events and of course, taking care of the people she loved. She will be remembered as a true blessing to her family, as she was always so attentive and kind.
Stacia is survived by her beloved sons, Dennis Oreshan Sr. (Dorothy), of Cohoes, and Ronald Oreshan (Berna) of Tucson, Ariz.; by her loving grandchildren, Diahanna Kwok (Ben) of Sydney, Australia, Denise Johnson (Jim) of Cohoes, Dennis Oreshan Jr. (Kaylin) of Cohoes, Deborah Kwok (Jeremy) of Sydney, Australia and Nicholas Oreshan (Kelly) of Carmel, Ind. She is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy L. Smith, and her brother, John Mrozko, who both passed earlier this year.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 15, at 10:30 a.m., in the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes. Interment will follow in St. Nicholas Orthodox Cemetery, Boght Corners.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home Sunday, September 14 from 3 to 6 p.m.
