She was born in Battle Creek, Michigan, to Georgia L. Howlett (Grevious) and Arthur Barney on March 28, 1965. Stacy attended Battle Creek Public Schools and worked as a case manager and caregiver. She was associated with the Haven's Inasmuch, Women's Co-op, and Holy Light Missionary Baptist Church.
Stacy leaves behind three beautiful children whom she cherished dearly, daughter, Dr. LaCoya (Leon) Crape of Indianapolis, Indiana; sons, Morgan Howlett and Phillip Handy II, both of Battle Creek, Michigan; 11 grandchildren, Montae Howlett, Jaymere Howlett, Coyshaun Hawkins, Imani Howlett, Mahivere Howlett, Marion Howlett. Amiyah Handy, Kaleah Handy, Rochelle Handy, Kianna Handy, and Phillip Handy III; siblings, Ricky (Beulah) Howlett, Thomas Howlett, Roger Williams, Michael Barney, Rhonda Pouncy, Marla Howlett, Michelle Barney, Cheryl Barney; special aunt, Betty Howlett; significant other, Henry Irby; and sisters-in-love, Rosetta Brewer, Viola Wilson, Anita Wilson, Dawn Wilson, and Delise Wilson. Stacy was reunited with her "Fav," her maternal grandmother, Rosie "Babe" Howlett; grandfather, Otis (Bea) Howlett; uncles, Andrew Howlett, Odis Howlett, James Howlett; aunts, Ada Mae Barbee, Shirley Ann Howlett, Roberta H. Cribbs; niece, Keeomie Howlett; nephew, Matthew Jackson; sister-in-love, April Evans; and significant other, Arthur Chatt.
Stacy's light and legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren, siblings, family, and friends.
