Stan Hobson

Stan Hobson received what he longed for, to meet his Savior Jesus face-to-face on Monday, August 4, 2025. He was on his farm in the Bleeker Community doing what he loved when the Lord welcomed him to his eternal home.

Stanley Earl Hobson was born in Fordyce, AR on February 17, 1955. He worked in forestry for many years before answering the call to preach. His greatest honor was to Pastor at Sulphur Springs Missionary Baptist Church for almost 9 years. Stan could reach people for the Lord and was always ready to talk about Jesus.

Stan is survived by his wife of 41 years, Leisa Wegner Hobson, his daughter, Brittany Castleberry and her husband Trevor, and his best buddies, grandsons Zak Whittington and Case Castleberry. He is also survived by his sister, Deborah Axsom, and brothers Wayne Hobson and Charlie Hobson, his church family at Sulphur Springs Missionary Baptist Church and a host of friends and family.

Stan was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Oland and Reba McGriff, his mother, Marie Turner Inglis, father, Charles B. Hobson, a brother, Eddie Hobson and a sister, Linda Flemmons.

Graveside services will be held 10AM Thursday, August 7, 2025 at Shady Grove Cemetery in the Bleeker Community with Brother Everett Smith officiating. A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 6, 2025 from 6PM to 8PM at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sulphur Springs Missionary Baptist Church, P. O.
