Stan Watson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Curlew Hills Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Mar. 9, 2026.
Stan Watson, beloved husband, grandfather, and visionary entrepreneur, passed away on March 4, 2026, at his home in Palm Harbor, Florida. He was 64 years old.

Born on August 20, 1961, in Mount Airy, North Carolina, Stan grew up in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, where the values of hard work and community were instilled in him early on. He went on to attend NC State University, setting the foundation for a business career that would take him far. Stan honed his craft working within Inc. 500 companies, absorbing the kind of experience and discipline that only comes from operating at that high level. He took everything he learned and poured it into building a natural supplement company alongside his wife Brenda Watson, growing it into one of the nation's most successful brands. More recently, the two of them founded Vital Planet together with their family, a company that reflects both his business acumen and his genuine belief in helping people live healthier lives.

Stan was a man of wide-ranging curiosity and an adventurous spirit. He was an avid reader and a devoted collector of classic literature, with a particular affection for Ernest Hemingway. He loved the sea, the sky, and the world beneath the waves, finding joy as both a licensed pilot and a passionate scuba diver. He was a lifelong fan of Jimmy Buffett and held a special place in his heart for the adventure and intrigue of Ian Fleming's James Bond novels. Those who knew Stan knew that his interests were as broad as his intellect, and he brought that same enthusiasm to all he did.

More than his accomplishments, Stan was known for the way he made people feel. He was a brilliant businessman, yet first and foremost he was a loving husband to Brenda, whose life's work he championed with unwavering devotion. He is survived by his wife Brenda Watson, his parents, Muriel Badgett Watson and Tommy Frank Watson, his sister, Allison Sinclair, her husband, Eric and their daughter, Roslin, his daughter-in-law Joy Hillary and her husband, Chris, and his grandchildren Wednesday, Ella, Rocket, and Ava, who will carry forward the warmth and wonder he brought to every room he entered.

He leaves behind a legacy, not only in the companies he grew and the lives he touched through his work, but in the people who loved him and the world he made better simply by being in it.

He will be deeply missed.
