Stanislaw Kobak Obituary

Stanislaw A. "Stanley" Kobak, 82, longtime resident of Vernon, beloved husband of 56 years to Wieslawa "Wesley" (Kopera) Kobak, passed away after a brief illness on Monday, January 15, 2024. He was born on July 5, 1941, in Brzostek, Poland, son to the late Joseph and Aniela (Krzyzanowska) Kobak.

Stanley was born and raised in Poland where he completed his schooling. In 1966, at the age of 25, he immigrated to the United States, where he has resided in Vernon since. Stanley is a true testament of the American dream, leaving Europe to create a legacy in America, virtually on his own.

A devout worker, Stanley first began his employment at the former U.S. Envelope Shop. After a decade Stanley relocated to Allied Printing in Manchester where he quickly became a beloved employee & friend, providing incredible service until he was ultimately honored for his outstanding commitment to excellence at his retirement ceremony in 2007. As exemplary of an employee as Stanley was, he was an even better man.

Stanley was a long-time parishioner at St. Joseph's Church. A regular volunteer, Stanley offered his weekly services to the parish in the form of collection baskets and warm gestures to those in the community. Stanley's faith carried over into every aspect of his life, including his deep appreciation for nature, walks on the local trail with his beloved wife, fishing, & gardening. However, these peaceful practices did not deter the competitor within. A phenomenal Bocce player, Stanley was known to keep his yard the perfect "home court" for his Bocce tournaments – before ultimately winning every time. Despite how much Stanley enjoyed these victories though, his greatest pride was watching his three grandchildren compete at the highest level in their respective sports.

In addition to his wife Wesley, Stanley is survived by his two daughters, Virginia Zacchia and her husband Vinnie of Southington and Elizabeth Micale of Manchester; his three grandchildren, Michael Boornazian, Amanda Ciaramella and her husband Anthony, and Joey Zacchia; his three sisters, Josephine Tinz and her husband Leszek, Alice Richards, and Christine Wojtak and her husband Mark; as well as one great-grandson on the way. He was predeceased by his parents.

Funeral services for Stanley will be held privately. Burial will take place in St. Bernard Cemetery, Rockville. Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, in Vernon, will be in care of his arrangements. To leave an online message of condolence for his family, please visit www.carmonfuneralhome.com.
