Dear Michaelite Fathers and Fr. Stan's family- As a teacher friend of Fr. Stan's, I can tell you that I never met a priest who is so dedicated to the students in the schools under his care. He made weekly visits as well as time for class masses and the regular sacramental schedule. The students ran to Fr. Stan when he came and we all appreciated his time, sense of humour and deep faith. As well, as Eucharistic Ministers for Holy rosary, my husband and I always heard from the home bound how Fr. Stan had visited them recently. He loved life with gusto through travelling and his love of people. My husband was in the Italian class that Fr. Stan was attending. Imagine leaning a new language at 80!. Fr. Stan will be remembered very fondly. Peace be with you.

To the Michaelite Fathers and Fr. Stan's family- As a teacher friend of Fr. Stan's, I have never met a priest so dedicated to the schools under his care. He always made time for weekly visits, class masses as well as the regular duties of the sacraments. The students loved Fr. Stan and ran to him when he came to the school. My husband and I were parishioners at Holy Rosary and will always remember his passion for the sick and home bound. When we delivered communion to seniors, they always mentioned that Fr. Stan had been to visit them. We don't know how he had the time to do all that he did. My husband was in the same class with him studying Italian. He had a gusto for life that he maintained through traveling and learning. He was a special man and will be missed. God bless- Linda Latella, London, ON

Dear Father Stan;
Typically one reserves this message for those who are still physically present, yet, through writing 'you' now, these words are intended to embrace all others who love you as well.

My spirit grew through serving the alter under your guise; through cycling to Wingham from London with my mom (Doris Barrett) when I was just a child; through playing tennis with you; through hearing your sermons; through sharing contemplation, laughs and dinners with you.

Thank you for your grace, Father Stan. Thank you.

Love and eternal reverence,

Stan Uchanski

Dear Michaelite Fathers and Brothers;
Words don't come easy to express how I feel. You will miss him dearly and so will I and my family. He has been a friend to us for over 20 years. Just a few days before Easter we had a little visit and I asked him when he was going to retire for good. He said: 'The day I die.' Well, he did. His death came to quick for us, he was only 80 years YOUNG.
But my daughter-in-law consoled me with her beautiful words and I would like to share them with you: Fr. Stan chose the day of Jesus’ passing to unite with the God he served so passionately all his life. The Lord is risen and Fr. Stan has Everlasting Life.
Yes, he does. HAPPY RETIREMENT, STAN.
We all have lost his physical presence among us, specially you dear Michaelites, but his spirit will continue to be with us. (He might not retire after all). May love and prayers are with you.
Doris

My mom (Sophia Soltysik LePere)is Fr. Stan's cousin. Fr. Stan visited with our family several times over the years at the Soltysik farm in Oxford, Ohio. Even though he was here just a few times, his sense of humor, kindness, warmth & joy of life will be with me always. My heart goes out to those who knew him so much better than I for you have truly lost a wonderful man. May his spirit & enthusiasm live on in each of you. Love to all, Jenni (Pokey) LePere Silcox

Dear Michaelite Fathers, Family Members and Relatives of Fr Stan:
Please accept my condolences upon the death of Fr Stan. He is a gentle caring man and a devoted priest who touched many hearts with his strong faith and warm personality. As he is missed here on earth, he is, no doubt, treasured in the embrace of God. Unfortunately I cannot be with you at his Funeral Mass since I will be in Louisiana working with International Catholic Engaged Encounter. May God bless you all!
