Stanlee Mukai Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Return Home Green Funeral Home - Auburn on Feb. 27, 2026.
Stanlee Satoru Mukai, 63, of Fresno, California, passed away on January 26, 2026.

Stanlee was born on May 8th, 1962, in San Jose, California, to Shinichi Mukai and Aiko Jeanette Yamada. When Stanlee was eight, he moved to the Central Valley with his parents, two older sisters, Susan and Gayle, and his younger brother, Kyle. He grew up in Kingsburg and graduated from Kingsburg High School in 1981.

He attended the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he earned a degree in Electrical Engineering. Throughout his life, Stanlee was active in community organizations: Jr. YBA, Sr. YBA, Asian American Club, and the Filipino Club. As an adult, he was involved with the Japanese American Citizens League (JACL). Throughout his life, Stanlee attended Buddhist church events and services throughout the Central Valley - Kingsburg, Fowler, Reedley, Parlier, and Fresno.

Stanlee married Lily Tseng on April 20, 1996, at the Yosemite Valley Chapel. They moved to Parlier, California, where they raised two daughters, Sarah and Hannah (KC), on a cherry farm. When their marriage came to an end, Stan and Lily worked hard to become wonderful coparents and friends. Stanlee's most cherished role in his life was being a father and being devoted to raising his two daughters.

Stanlee enjoyed the outdoors, nature, and gardening. He loved sharing those hobbies with others, especially his daughters. Stanlee was passionate about his cherry farm. During the summers, Stanlee, Lily, and his two daughters sold cherries at various locations in Kingsburg, California. With his avid green thumb, he enjoyed planting a variety of tomatoes that he would happily share with his family and friends.

He had a soft spot for dogs and cats. He always had a dog keeping him company when out on the farm, fed turkey to the cats at Disneyland, and planted cat grass in his yard for the neighborhood cats to enjoy. He enjoyed taking his dogs, Mimi and Max, for walks at Fresno State to admire the trees and rose gardens.

Preceding Stanlee in death are his parents, Shinichi and Aiko. Those remaining to cherish Stanlee's memory are his two daughters, Sarah and Hannah (KC), the mother of his two daughters and a friend, Lily, and his dogs, Mimi and Max.

Stanlee's Memorial Service will be held at the Kingsburg Buddhist Church (831 Orange St, Kingsburg, CA 93631) on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 11:00 am.
