Stanley Bowen Obituary
Born in Providence, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Stanley Bowen and the late Thelma Bowen Williams.
Butch was employed for many years as a chemical batch maker with Hoechst Celanese Corporation. In his spare time, he devoted himself to coaching, leading both recreational basketball and Little League/Senior League baseball in Hope Valley. His dedication to youth sports earned him induction into the Chariho Little League Hall of Fame. In addition, he coached and played mens softball at Dow Field and Old Mountain Field in Wakefield.
Butch's hobbies included fishing, golfing, playing horseshoes, and Pitch, which he enjoyed as part of a Monday night league.
Nothing brought him more joy than supporting his granddaughters. He rarely missed their volleyball and softball games, dance line performances, or dance recitals.
Butch will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Barbara; his son, Larry Bowen, and wife Holly; his two cherished granddaughters, Morgan (Dylan) Caruana and Adrienne Bowen; his great-granddaughter, Callie; and his siblings, John (Debra) Bowen and Pam Bliven.
He was predeceased by his son, Stanley Bowen Jr., and his brothers, Robert and Larry Bowen.

Somebody, during my time in the Chariho area, who was a good person, had great personal warmth, an easy sense of humor and smile that made everyone better. He coached kids and he cared. Someone you wanted to be around.
