Obituary published on Legacy.com by Barnes-Friederich & Pope Funeral Home - Midwest City on Jan. 1, 2026.
Stanley Allen Clements was born 5 July 1947 in Oklahoma City OK and passed from this life on 26 Dec 2025 at the age of 78 with family at his side. Stan grew up in Choctaw, one of 10 kids and with lots of love. He was onery as a kid and wound up joining the U.S. Navy at the young age of 17. He served as shipfitter on Attack Aircraft Carrier USS Ranger over 4 years. Stan worked at Tinker AFB for over 35 years, retiring in 2003.
Stan married Mona Maddox in 1969 and they had two little girls, Niki and Sammi Jo Clements. Stan and Mona divorced in 1976, but he had visitation with his daughters every other weekend which he looked forward to very much. In 1979 Stan married Madeline Blackburn and their combined family grew into 4 children with Madeline's son Richard Hitt and daughter Leslie Blackburn. The couple realized they wanted to build a good stable home for their family and began growing a big vegetable garden, raised several dogs and shared his interest in College football. Family trips to the lake with other friends and their kids were always fun. Fishing, camp fires, tents, and lots of exploring with the kids was always a great weekend. He loved the family reunions with his large family, who got together often. After the kids got older, Stan wanted a big garage where he could work on old Classic cars. He also loved to work with wood. He drew his own plans and began to build a 26X48 foot garage. It took a long time but with help from family and friends, Stan had his garage! Stan's first attempt at restoration was a 65 Chevy Nova. He worked on it when he could, but with work, TDY, bowling and going out with his close friends, that little Nova sat in the garage for close to 20 years before he got to it. But during that time, Stan was buying the tools necessary for woodworking and the restoration. He always helped friends, family, and neighbors with their cars and the neighborhood kids with bicycle problems. He was known as the car guru or the fix-it guy. Stan loved old trucks, especially the 64-65 Chevy short bed pickups. He rebuilt several and drove each one until he saw another one. He built a wooden wagon for one of the first Grandsons and designed and built a Crayola truck for each Grand for Christmas one year. He could build or fix almost anything and seldom turned down any challenge or requests for help.
Stan was proceeded in death by his parents, Joe and Alma Clements, one daughter Niki Krumme, stepson Richard Hitt, a brother, Gee Marshall, a sister Marilyn Condrey, two Grandsons, Logan Duren and Jacob Duren. Stan is survived by his wife, Madeline, a daughter, Sammi Jo Neeley, a stepdaughter Leslie Blackburn, a brother Raymond (Pete), 5 sisters Carole, Joyce, Nancy, Lucy and Donna, numerous nieces & nephews, 12 Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren.
Stan's funeral service will be on Saturday, 3 January 2026 in The Chapel at Barnes-Friederich & Pope Funeral Home, 305 S. Sooner Rd, MWC 73110, at 3:00 P.M. Friends and loved ones are encouraged to wear a classic car shirt to honor him.
