Stanley G. Forzley, 77, of Poseyville, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the Linda E. White Hospice House surrounded by his loving family.
Stan was born on February 16, 1947, in Oakland, California. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served in the Vietnam War. Stan earned a PhD in Computer Science from Benedictine University in 2000. He worked as a software engineer for AT&T International before retiring then went on to work at the United State Post Office Distribution Center. He was the Poseyville Clerk Treasurer and organized the computer network system for the town. Stan was a life member of VFW Post 1114, an avid reader, and a local author haven written several books and screenplays. His published works were science fiction novels. Stan's most treasured accomplishment was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He supported all his children's and grandchildren's successes and accomplishments.
Surviving Stan are his wife of 43 years, Georgia Forzley; son, John (Lisa) Forzley; daughters, Dana (Zack) Evans and Melissa (Dominique) Whitlock; grandchildren, Ashton (Sarah Ayer) Forzley, Nolan (Claire Schmitt) Forzley, Alexis Forzley, Alaina Forzley, Preston Jordan, and Margaret Whitlock and two brothers, Gregory and James Forzley.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Pierre Funeral Home, Rev. Terry Gamblin and the Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club officiating.
Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 PM until service time on Saturday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the VFW Post #1114, 110 N. Wabash Avenue of Flags, Evansville, IN 47712.
