Stanley Hunt Obituary

Stanley Ross Hunt, 86, of Greensburg, went home to Heaven on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2026. Born on Aug. 31, 1939, to Robert Jr. and Irene Hunt on a farm in Ramsey, IL, he was the second eldest among four brothers and one sister. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 40 years, Betsy Hunt. A respected business leader, Stan served as general manager, president, and CEO of Powerex Inc. in Youngwood a joint venture between General Electric, Westinghouse, and Mitsubishi from 1984 until his retirement in 2007. Leading with integrity, he guided the company through numerous challenges, safeguarding hundreds of jobs and transforming Powerex into a thriving, sustainable enterprise. In recognition of his impact, the company dedicated a building in his honor: The Stan Hunt Manufacturing Center. Stan offered his strategic insight and steady leadership to his community as well. He served for decades on the boards of the United Way and the American Red Cross. During his 50 years in the Greensburg area, he poured his heart into Charter Oak Church, helping shepherd it from a small gathering in a basement into a multi campus community ministering to thousands. He served faithfully as Chair of the Church Council and was known as a truthful, compassionate, wise leader whose faith influenced countless lives. His favorite scripture, John 15:5 "Jesus is the vine and we are the branches; those who remain in Him will bear much fruit" was a guiding truth throughout his life. The fruit of that faith touched everyone who knew him. His faith in Jesus Christ became the steady bedrock foundation on which the family would turn to for guidance, strength, and direction. In his free time, Stan enjoyed Pittsburgh sports, golf, ping-pong, and billiards. His competitive spirit could be heard in the hearty cheers that filled the room whenever the Steelers scored. Stan is survived by his six children, Wendy (Jeff) Kemerer, Sandy (Karl) Chacon-Stauss, Kimberly H. Landa, Sarah (Jonathan) Cooper, Mary (Steve) Wilmert, and Tim (Heather) Hunt. He was additionally blessed to be "Grandad" and "Pop pop" to 27 grandchildren, including spouses, and five great grandchildren, each one a joy and a testament to his legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for those comfortable to donate to Charter Oak Food Pantry or American Red Cross in Stan's honor. Family and friends will be received from 9 to 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, at Charter Oak Church, Frye Farm Campus, 449 Frye Farm Road, Greensburg, with a Celebration of Life Service immediately following and Pastor Dave Eversdyke officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, Greensburg. For online condolences, please visit www.kepplegraft.com.

The first thoughts that come to mind when thinking about Stan is his quiet stregnth and smile. He would be walking through the church holding his Bible - his way of showing everyone where his stregnth came from. Stan will always be remembered for the faith he had in God and his ability in his every day life and actions to show God to others. Well done good and faithful servant.
