Stanley Kaminski Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals, LLC - Toms River on Mar. 30, 2026.
Stanley Theodore Kaminski (age 90) passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026. He was born to parents Theodore and Stella Kaminski on February 17, 1936, in Newark and has three siblings: Dorothy, Carl (predeceased), and Frances. He lived a simple life growing up, enjoying sports with his friends, spending time with his family, and trying to avoid trouble. He graduated from Hawkins Grammar School, Newark East Side High School, and Seton Hall. He served his country in the Naval branch on several ships, including the USS Tripoli, and traveled to many countries, crossing the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. He later married Dorothy Jenkins, and they went on to have four children-Teddy, Chris, Leslie, and Robin-and moved to Lyndhurst. Stan worked for Interlude in Newark for much of his career. He enjoyed playing basketball, baseball trivia, local politics, and spending time with family and friends. We spent much of our summertime at the Jersey Shore in Forked River.

Our father was unconventional in many ways and held strong to his beliefs and values. He had breakfast at his parents' house every day for many years, where his mother Stella cooked for him and often packed him lunch for work. He engaged with his children in many fun and adventurous activities. We can recall sleigh rides being pulled by his car from a rope attached to the bumper, crossing Barnegat Bay to the lighthouse in an outboard motorboat with his four children, father-in-law, and our dog Hoover, and sanding wooden crates during the summer to place inside the Forked River house. He loved going to upstate New York with his wife Dorothy to the house they purchased in Grand Gorge. He was also a member of the Polish American Club and the American Legion.

Unfortunately, our dad started becoming ill in October of 2024. Although his condition worsened since then, he enjoyed the company of his family, his beloved caregiver Annemarie, and the music he collected over the years. We will cherish all the memories shared with him and our mom and wish him peace for eternity. He is survived by his four children: Teddy, Chris, Leslie, and Robin; his sister Frances, his four grandchildren: Jennifer, Christopher, Brett, and Brandon, and his two great-grandchildren: Logan and Grayson.

Friends & family will be received Tuesday 9 AM at the Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals, 412 Main Street, Toms River. Funeral mass 12 PM at Saint Maximilian Kolbe Church. Entombment, Wednesday April 1st, at Holy Cross Cemetery & Mausoleum in North Arlington, NJ.
