Stanley Jack Kravetz, 91, of
Cincinnati, Ohio passed away Tuesday May 13, 2025 peacefully, surrounded by his family. He was born on March 4, 1934, in Georgetown, Kentucky, to the late Rose and Issac Kravetz. Stanley leaves behind his beloved wife of almost 55 years, Reenie Shuman Kravetz. He was previously married to the late Norma Jean Marcus Kravetz. Stanley was the devoted father of Andrea (Louis Katz) Kravetz, Pam (Craig Davis) Kravetz, Scott (Vernie Zuerbe) Kravetz, Todd Kravetz, and the late Kim (Mike Bryan) Kravetz. He was the loving grandfather of, Max (Holden), Bella, Joey, Karma, Noah and Zara, Erin (Jamie), Jill (Patrick), and great grandfather of Asa, Tessa, August and Winne. He was the dear brother of Faye Bross and the late Seymour Bross and Shaney Sherwat and the late Malcom Sherwat and devoted Uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Stanley's early life was on a farm in Sadieville, Kentucky where his education began in a one room schoolhouse. The family later moved to Georgetown, Kentucky where he attended elementary school. They then relocated to Cincinnati, where he graduated from Hughes High School. Stanley returned to his Kentucky roots and received a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture from the University of Kentucky. Always patriotic, Stanley joined the army after the Korean War and was honored to serve his country. He married his high school sweetheart Norman Jean Marcus in 1956 and they had three beautiful children, Andrea, Pam and Scott. Norma passed away in 1969. A few years later he found love again and was blessed to be married to Reenie Shuman. They had two children together, Kim and Todd. The family of five became a loving family of seven.
More than anything, family was very important to Stanley. Nothing made him happier than the time he & Reenie spent with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. The many family photos that grace the walls of the family living room are testament to this. Holidays were opportunities for the extended family to spend time together that he always looked forward to. In particular, the family celebrations of Sukkot and Passover were annual highlights for the Kravetz family and all who attended.
Stanley shared his joy of being with people in his working life as well. As a young father he worked for a time with Getz Jewelers and later became a licensed Optician and ran the optical centers for Eyeworld. His time as an Optician was interrupted when he owned and managed GIJ Surplus – an Army/Navy store on Race Street in downtown Cincinnati. He loved meeting and talking with former GI's and the many customers that frequented the store. He later returned to his expertise as an Optician & worked for years at Lens Crafters, helping all who stopped in to find just the right pair of glasses. His devoted customers returned to him again and again to get new glasses. He retired in 2013 to spend more time with his beloved family.
