Stanley L. Poste

Lyons Falls- Stanley L. Poste, 82, of Laura St., husband of Thelma, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Lewis County Extended Care Facility, Lowville, where he had resided since August of 2022.
Stanley was born in Potsdam, NY, on July 29, 1940, a son of Glenn and Elva Robinson Poste. He moved to the Town of Lyonsdale with his family as a youth, growing up in Gouldtown where he attended a rural school, before graduating from Port Leyden Central School, with the Class of 1959. On September 28, 1963, Stanley was united in marriage with Thelma S. Gydesen, in Lyons Falls. Thereafter the couple lived in Port Leyden, before moving to Lyonsdale Road, where they lived for many years until making their home on Laura St.
Mr. Poste possessed a strong work ethic and was a gifted carpenter. For many years, he was employed as a carpenter for Law Bros. Construction Co. Lyons Falls, Prime South, as a heavy equipment operator, Moshier's Contracting, Kamp Kill Kare, as a caretaker and J.L Smith & Sons.
He was an avid hunter and also greatly enjoyed fishing.
In addition to his wife, Thelma, Stanley is survived by two sons and a daughter in law, Mike (Fausta), Lyons Falls, Jeff, Port Leyden; two granddaughters, Merissa and Mia, four grandsons, Keegan, Brayden, Gannon and Rogan, three great grandsons, Reese, Reed and Chase; two brothers, Steve (Pat), South Colton, NY, and Dale (Vicky), Texas. He was predeceased by two brothers, Gary and Phil.
Also surviving are two sisters in law, Penny, South Carolina and Mary, California; brothers in law, Donald Gydesen, Lyons Falls, George and Kathy Gydesen, Forestport, Gyde Gydesen, Lowville and sister and brother in law, Sandy and Roy Aden, Lyons Falls.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 11:00 A.M. in Wildwood Cemetery, Lyons Falls. There are no calling hours.
