Stanley will always be remembered as a teacher, friend, and mentor. We had the pleasure of caring for him for 8 years. The stories he shared and the lectures he gave showed a deep understanding of what was important to him. We come away, as we always do, with life lessons, experiences, and history that cannot come from books. We loved Stanley and wish him peacefully home.

Stanley was and is one of the best men I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He taught me how to appreciate small accomplishments such as finishing a sandwich or making it up three flights of stairs using teamwork and the help of God. Stanley was a constant source of humble pride, limitless love, and a reminder to be thankful for what is as well as what isn't. I'll always remember not to let the sun shine on my TV screen, just in case it might blow up. I'll remember to take each day as a gift and to not curse out loud when I have trouble finding a parking spot. I'll remember. Stanley is a man that has shaped the kind of person I have become. Never forgotten.
