Cremation Society of SC - Brown Funerals - SenecaStanley Paul Smith, 78, of Seneca, "Stan the Man” passed away on January 22, 2026. Born in Greenville, SC he was the son of Paul Olin Smith and Nellie Lucille Drost.
Survivors include his son Matthew O'Kelley, of Seneca, and his fiancé, Rita Hightower of Tamassee. He is also survived by three siblings; Mark Drost, Wayne Drost, and Becky Drost whom he helped raise.
Stanley was predeceased by his wife of 35 years, Karen Suzzanne Smith, his grandparents, Luther and Sula Willimon, and William Smith and Hattie Smith.
He was a self-taught artist, Stan played on the High School Football team as number "66." Over the years he managed a restaurant, along with working at Phillip Fibers, Walmart, Oconee Memorial Hospital, Ingles and Itron. Stan loved old movies, thrift stores, antique cars, and going to the gym, he was very patriotic man who loved his country and his family. He was very proud of being an artist for Clemson Tiger Football.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Brown Funerals with Dixie Meeks officiating.
